I am an In-Network provider for:

  • Aetna
  • United Healthcare
  • Oxford
  • Oscar Health

I am an “Out of Network” provider with most other insurance plans. I am happy to provide you with a receipt at the end of the month called a “superbill” that you can submit to your insurance for possible out of network reimbursement.

Most PPO and POS insurance plans have out-of-network coverage. I can assist you with checking your out-of-network coverage.

The most important part of therapy is the relationship between the patient and therapist. Therefore we will meet for about 75-90 minutes to ensure you feel respected, supported, understood, and are informed about how therapy with me can help you.

Our intake appointment will involve getting to know each other and discussing what brings you into therapy. I’ll ask questions about your history, presenting concerns, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. I’ll explain how I can help, begin to develop a plan for treatment, and answer any questions you may have.

We’ll review forms you filled out in the patient portal and discuss confidentiality and informed consent.

Most patients are seen weekly for 55 min individual therapy sessions for about 4-5 months. Some patients will return after graduation for extra support if needed or stay for longer to work on more goals.

Telehealth is having therapy sessions via a secure video conferencing platform. Research shows that virtual sessions is an effective form of psychotherapy. There are a few differences than what you would experience in an office. You will need to find a space at all possible that is quiet and where you feel comfortable to share. If you have a headset that will also help with reducing noise and distraction.

I understand that there may be times you are unable to keep an appointment. Please cancel or reschedule an appointment within 24 hrs of your appointment so I can reschedule you and offer the spot to another patient waiting. If an appointment is canceled with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged the full session fee.

A moonbow occurs at night, usually during a full moon with a clear dark sky. Moonbow’s normally appear near a waterfall.  The moon’s light is reflected and refracted off of water droplets in the air appearing as a faint white beam of light to the human eye. However, when captured with a camera, over a long exposure, you can see its full beauty with all the colors of a rainbow.

I chose the name Moonbow Counseling to highlight how there can still be a beautiful light during dark times, even if you cannot see it yet.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
